We are seeking energetic and qualified candidates to coordinate our
Girls Science Clubs
You will join a dynamic, creative team of educators, artists, and scientists to bring vital after school programs to an underserved population of Berkshire county students, building a learning community and supporting girls from third to twelfth grade as they engage with STEAM activities in Pittsfield, Lee, Richmond, Great Barrington, and Sheffield. This is a 20 hour/ week position and you will need to provide your own transportation to program sites around the county. Flying Cloud Institute is an equal opportunity employer.
Job Responsibilities
Run GSC after school programs; intentionally create a learning community of participants; support and guide mentors in planning and implementing activities; organize culminating showcases.
Recruit, supervise, and direct the work of high school mentors who work in the elementary school Girls Science Clubs (GSC).
Cultivate and maintain relationships with participants’ family members, visiting STEM professionals, community partners, and participating school faculty members.
Conduct pre- and post- assessments on the program’s efficacy; participate in program evaluations and strategy sessions
Document program sessions
Participate in Flying Cloud Institute staff meetings and trainings, attend weekly supervision meetings with the Young Women In Science Director.
Qualifications
Have or are working towards relevant Bachelor’s degree: ideally in science, art, psychology, or education
Previous experience working with young people
Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities
Excellent writing and analytical skills
Experience using G-suite and Excel a plus

Salary: $15-17/ hour
